SMS Notification Program

Last updated August 25, 2026

Max May SEO operates a text message notification program for its clients. This page describes exactly who receives messages, how they consent, what is sent, and how to stop.

Who receives messages

Only two groups receive text messages from Max May SEO:

  • Business owners who have engaged Max May SEO for marketing services
  • Staff members those owners have specifically authorised to receive alerts

No messages are sent to consumers, prospects, or members of the public. There is no public sign-up form because the program is not open to the public.

How consent is obtained

Consent is collected as part of client onboarding, in a documented workflow:

  1. A business owner engages Max May SEO for marketing services under a written agreement.
  2. During onboarding, the owner is asked whether they want text notifications when a new customer enquiry arrives. This is asked directly, and the default is no.
  3. If the owner says yes, they supply their own mobile number and confirm agreement in writing by email, or verbally during a recorded onboarding call.
  4. The owner is shown this page and the disclosures below before the number is enabled.
  5. The number is then added by Max May SEO. No number is ever added without the owner asking for it.
  6. If the owner wants staff members to receive alerts, the owner obtains that person's agreement and supplies the number, confirming in writing that the individual has agreed.

Consent is never bundled into another agreement, never pre-checked, and never a condition of purchasing any service. A client can decline text notifications and still receive every other service without change.

What is sent

A short operational alert when a new customer enquiry arrives from a lead source, containing the customer's name, the service requested, the city, and the customer's phone number so the enquiry can be answered promptly.

Example:

Max May SEO: New lead from Thumbtack. Dana Whitfield, Electrical panel upgrade, Beaverton 97005. Customer phone 503-555-0100. maxmayseo.com. Reply STOP to opt out.

No marketing, promotional, or advertising content is sent through this program.
